What is the difference between hormones and enzymes

What is the difference between hormones and enzymes? | hormones versus enzyme | how does hormones differ from enzyme |distinguish/ compare between hormone and enzyme.

"What

I think you all are familiar with word hormones and enzymes in biology, which both are secreted from several glands in our body in response to change in the external or internal environment and carried by blood to recognition site where they stimulate or inhibit certain physiological process for good of body.

What is the hormones and enzymes?

hormones are chemical messengers secreted from endocrine glands inside our body which stimulate or inhibit specific physiological process for the good of the body whereas enzymes are biocatalyst that accelerate the several biological reaction inside our body, protein in nature and it acting on substrate and transform it into different molecules known as product.

What is hormones?

What is hormones?, the hormones are informational molecules secreted by the endocrine cells in one part of the body in response to change in the external or internal in environment and carried by blood to another part where they stimulate or inhibit specific physiological process for the good of the body.

What is the meaning of hormone?

What is the meaning of hormone?, hormones means arouse or excite, chemical messengers in our body which are secreted from several endocrine glands that regulate the biological process in the body of organism. It stimulate or inhibit the specific biological process inside our body.

Who coined the term hormone?

Who coined the term hormone?, the term hormone was coined by Ernest starling in june 1905, he was a professor of physiology at university college of London in United Kingdom, when he was giving a lecture on the topic chemical correlation of function of body, use the word hormones first time which Greek meaning is arouse or excite the chemical messengers which speeding from cells to cells along the blood stream.

What is enzyme?

What is enzyme?, enzymes are biocatalyst that accelerate the several biological reaction inside our body and it is protein in nature. The enzyme acting on substrate and transform it into different molecules known as product. Enzymes have very high molecular weight and are not diffusible.

What is the difference between hormones and enzymes?

Key difference between hormones and enzymes is that hormones are chemical messengers secreted from endocrine glands inside our body which stimulate or inhibit specific physiological process for the good of the body whereas enzymes are biocatalyst that accelerate the several biological reaction inside our body, protein in nature and it acting on substrate and transform it into different molecules known as product.

How does the hormone differ from enzyme?

How does the hormone differ from enzyme?, the hormone differ from enzyme in following points:- 1) Hormones are amino acid derivatives peptides protein or steroid in nature while all enzymes are complex proteins, 2) Hormones may have low molecular weight and readily diffuse through cell membranes while enzymes have very high molecular weight and are not diffusible, and 3) hormones secreted from endocrine glands whereas enzymes secreted from exocrine glands.

Hormone versus enzyme

List 5 differences/ how does/ how do you compare/ hormones versus enzymes/ distinguish/ differentiate/ hormone differ from enzyme are as follows:-

1) Hormones are amino acid derivatives peptides protein or steroid in nature while all enzymes are complex proteins.

2) Hormones may have low molecular weight and readily diffuse through cell membranes while enzyme have very high molecular weight and are not diffusible.

3) hormones secreted from endocrine glands whereas enzymes secreted from exocrine glands.

4) the hormones are secreted by cells at one side and pass via blood to another side to act while enzymes are secreted by cells and act in the cells themselves or pass viaducts to it in some cavity in the body.

5) hormones controlled access are not reversible while enzyme controlled reactions are reversible.

6) hormones are effective in low concentration their excess or deficiency may cause physiological disorders while enzyme act it in low concentrations but the rate of enzyme catalyzed reaction steadily increases with increase in their concentrations.
