Differences between transformation and transduction

Differences between transformation and transduction, hi guys in this article we know about definition of transformation and transduction and difference between these two.

Transformation is the phenomenon by which DNA isolated from one type of cell when introduced into another type is able to best show some of its properties into the latter is referred to as transformation. it was confirmed by Frederick griffith with his experiment on bacteria Streptoccocus pneumonia.

Transduction is a process of transfer of genetic material from one bacterium to another through bacteriophage is called transduction.

What is differences between transformation and transduction? Transformation is the phenomenon by which DNA isolated from one type of cell when introduced into another type is able to best show some of its properties into the latter is referred to as transformation. However transduction is a process of transfer of genetic material from one bacterium to another through bacteriophage is called transduction.

Differences between transformation and transduction

Now we briefly explain the differences between transformation and transduction following to the point:-

Transformation:-
1) one to several gene can be transferred in the process of transformation

2) vector bacteriophage is not required in transformation process

3) from non living medium gene are absorbed

4) it occurs for a small time usually at the end of active growth phase

5) calcium chloride is required in transformation process

6) it is the intake of DNA segments from outer sources.

Transduction:-
1) only one two genes are transferred at one time

2) vector bacteriophage is required in transduction process

3) genes are brought to form a living host

4) it can take place at any time

5) calcium chloride is not required in transduction process

6) it is carrying of genes by virus from one host to another host.
