As you know that skeletal muscle is made of muscle fibres which have smaller units called myofibrils which are cylindrical bundles of two types of filaments:- thin filaments of Actin and thick filaments of myosin, each myofibrils is organized as a chain of contractile units called sarcomere.

Definition of Actin:- a protein that forms a thin contractile filaments in muscle cells and it is found in A and I bands. Examples of actin is tropomyosin and troponin.
