INTRODUCTION:-
Elephantiasis is a tropical , infectious helminthic disease where the parasite lives inside lypmh vessels , connective tissue or mesentery but the young ones migrate to blood vessels for being picked up mosquito to turn them into infective form.

Filaria is quite common in warm countries.
The elephantiasis is due to nematode Wuchereria bancrofti .Other species are Brugia malayi and Brugia timori.
The disease spread by them are respectively called Bancroftian filariasis and burgian filariasis.

The pathogenen is spread from one human beings to another through mosquito like culex in case of Bancroftian filariasis and masonia in case of burgian filariasis.
