What is differences between genotype and phenotype

What is differences between genotype and phenotype, hi guys in this article we know about what is genotype and phenotype and difference between two.

All homozygous and heterozygous organism is represented by genotype and phenotype. The organism in which both the genes of character are identical is said to be homozygous or genetical pure for that character. It gives rise to offspring having the same character on self breeding. eg TT for homozygous dominant and tt for homozygous recessive. However the organism in which both the genes of character are unlike is said to be heterozygous. Such organism do not breed through on self fertilization. For ex Tt.

What is genotype definition? The genotypes is the genetic constitution of an organism. TT, tt and Tt are the genotypes of an organism with reference to this particular traits of alleles. Genotype can be ascertained from the ancestry or progeny of individuals.

What is phenotype definition? Phenotype Express the physical character of individuals like form, sex, colour and behaviour etc. Phenotype can be read out from individual by direct observation. Phenotype of an organism is the expression or observable structure and functional traits produced due to interaction of genes and environment.

What is differences between genotype and phenotype

Now briefly explain the difference between genotype and phenotype in several point:-

Genotype:-
1) genotype is the gene complement of an organism. For example TT for homozygous pure tall plant, tt for homozygous pure dwarf plant and Tt for heterozygous for hybrid tall plant.

2) genotype of individual remains unchanged

3) genotype of individual cannot be studied directly it can be ascertained from ancestory and or progeny or by mating

4) organism with different genotypes maybe with similar phenotypes for example tallness with TT or Tt genotypes.

Phenotype:-
1) it is physical expression of character like form, sex, colour and behaviour. For example tall and dwarf plant.

2) phenotype may change under the effect of environment

3) phenotype can be observed directly

4) organism with different phenotypes are usually with different genotypes.
