Differences between prokaryotic DNA and Eukaryotic DNA

Differences between prokaryotic DNA and Eukaryotic DNA, hi guys in this article we know about definition of prokaryotic DNA and Eukaryotic DNA and differentiate between these two.

The DNA in prokaryotes is present in Central area of cell is called the nucleoid, it is not surrounded by nuclear membrane carry two types of DNA: 1)chromosome DNA and 2)circular DNA that is also known as plasmid DNA. Plasmid DNA is distinct from chromosomal DNA, prokaryotic cells have specific genetic advantage to environment.

Chromosome are made up of nuclear protein which constituted basic protein and nucleic acid. Two kinds of nucleic acid are recognised Deoxy ribonucleic acid (DNA) and ribose nucleic acid (RNA). Eukaryotic DNA present in Central of cell that is known as nucleus, nucleus is surrounded by nuclear membrane and that DNA is double stranded helical structure associated with histone protein.

What is differences between prokaryotic DNA and Eukaryotic DNA? Prokaryotic DNA present in Central of cell known as nucleiod, present in cytoplasm, circular structure not associated with histone protein, extrachromosomal DNA may be present form plasmid and code for lasser number of proteins. However Eukaryotic DNA present in nucleus mitochondria and plastids of cells, linear in nucleus and circular in organelles like plastid and mitochondria, associated with histone protein, double helical structure, code for large number of proteins, plasmid absent and present with major part of DNA and nonfunctional.

Differences between prokaryotic DNA and Eukaryotic DNA

Now briefly explain the differences between prokaryotic DNA and Eukaryotic DNA to the point:-

Prokaryotic DNA:-
1) it is present in Central of cell known as nucleoid, also present in cytoplasm

2) DNA present in prokaryotic cell is in circular shape

3) DNA present in prokaryotic cell is not associated with histone protein

4) when prokaryotic DNA denature it form tangled mass

5) it codes for lasser number of protein

6) extrachromosomal DNA may be present in the form of plasmid

7) non coding intron is absent with little non-functional DNA

Eukaryotic DNA:-
1) DNA in Eukaryotic cells present in nucleus mitochondria and plastids

2) DNA present in nucleus is in linear shape and at present in organelles like chloroplast and mitochondria is in circular shape

3) histone protein are associated with Eukaryotic DNA to form nucleosome

4) when Eukaryotic DNA get denaturation there is two chain of polynucleotide appear

5) It codes for large number of protein

6) circular plasmid DNA is absent in Eukaryotic cell

7) non coding intron present and with major part of DNA are nonfunctional in Eukaryotic cell.
